Having already completed large and small projects across the company’s London-based portfolio, we were trusted to deliver high-quality, bespoke designs and joinery throughout the Gymkhana refurbishment, alongside a complete package of flexible service solutions.

Michelin-starred Gymkhana has been famed for its fine Indian dining since 2013, but was forced to close following a fire on 6 June 2019.
Gymkhana is one of 16 London-based restaurants owned by JKS Restaurants, a company founded by sibling trio Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi which specialises in diverse cuisine.
Our long-standing relationship with the company dates back to 2018 and since then, we have established ourselves as a preferred contractor through the delivery of four major restaurant refurbishments – of Berenjaks and Bubbledogs in Soho and Bao and Flor in Borough Market.
We won the Gymkhana contract having demonstrated our ability to work proactively and flexibly on ever-evolving design briefs in tight, confined spaces, always ensuring the successful handover of top-quality finishes to deadline and on budget.
On major refurbishments like Gymkhana and on other smaller maintenance work, we’ve worked closely with JKS Restaurants’ property/project manager Gordon Lee-Fisher to provide cost-effective, bespoke solutions that deliver the company’s vision of iconic restaurants in the heart of London’s dining scene.
Our Work
Following the closure of Mayfair-based Gymkhana, we were commissioned to ready the iconic restaurant for its reopening in early 2020.
With quality the top priority for its owners, we were trusted to honour and remodel the restaurant’s classic-style architecture, which is inspired by elite Indian Gymkhana clubs.
Our extensive work covered two floors, comprising bars, the restaurant area and private vaults, and a complete strip-out and full internal fit-out of all areas.
Employing our expertise in bespoke in-house electrical installation and joinery, we fitted new marble, carpet and timber plank floor finishes, curved bar fronts and granite and marble joinery for the worktops, cabinets and wall panels.
For the 16 weeks we were on site, the logistical challenges of working in a confined space in the heart of central London were no barrier to the on-time delivery of the restored restaurant.
And when tight deadlines piled pressure on logistics, we were quick to source equivalent but equal-quality products to those proposed in the initial design, ensuring every element was completed in time for the restaurant’s grand reopening.
