With commissions from The Gleneagles Hotel to refurbish key dining and leisure facilities at its prestigious resort, we’ve used our expertise to integrate the latest designs into an iconic brand for the past three years. Navigating structural and logistical obstacles along the way, we’ve provided flexible, timely and cost-effective solutions to ensure our top-quality projects are always delivered on time and within budget.

Overview

Famed for hosting golf’s Ryder Cup in 2014 and the G8 Summit of world leaders in 2005, Scotland’s Gleneagles hotel has offered 5-star luxury accommodation and leisure facilities to its guests since 1924.

The 850-acre resort boasts a multitude of swimming pools, championship golf courses, a falconry school and indulgent amenities, and invests in these to ensure its guests enjoy unrivalled luxury and tranquillity.

Our relationship with Gleneagles dates back to 2016 when we were commissioned to undertake a 570sq m refurbishment of The Birnam restaurant and a 370sq m refurbishment of The Garden Café the following year.

Most recently, we completed a significant refurbishment of the hotel’s gym and club reception, in late 2019.

With Gleneagles’ priority being premium finishes delivered to tight timescales, we have demonstrated our ability to work flexibly and creatively to achieve this.

And where structural and deadline challenges have caused other contractors to shy away from commissions, we have embraced the opportunity to provide proactive solutions and a great experience for Gleneagles and its guests.

Our Work

During our seven weeks on-site refurbishing Gleneagles’ gym and club reception, we delivered a full fit-out, including ceilings, lighting, floors, decorative walls, specialist gym floors, remodelling, redressing the reception and the refurbishment of the spa and fitness suite entrance.

Where other contractors had rejected the projects on the grounds that structural work was not achievable in the timescale, we delivered solutions. We worked night and day to demolish an external wall and install a window.

With Gleneagles keen to minimise disruption to guests, we set up temporary gym facilities in the tennis area and carried out access works to corridors and the reception overnight to ensure the swimming pool and spa area remained fully functional.

Other challenges, including a 10-day delay in materials from America, a month-long roof leak and the early arrival of a fitness equipment manufacturer, allowed us to demonstrate our solutions-focused approach, and we delivered the project one day ahead of contract.

How we added value
