Overview
From its launch as a Manchester-based antiques business in 1976, Timothy Oulton has transformed into a global brand. Today, owner Halo Creative Design has stores, restaurants and hospitality spaces in more than 20 countries.
In the UK, Halo Creative has its sights set on expanding its retail portfolio. Our relationship with the company began when we were commissioned to fit out its new Timothy Oulton store on Broadgate above Liverpool Street Tube station in London.
Working collaboratively with the client’s appointed project manager and cost consultant Monaghans, we successfully completed this project in late 2021. We have since delivered three further stores for Halo Creative Design – two Timothy Oulton schemes in Tottenham Court Road and Liverpool and a Sofa Workshop unit in Thurrock, Essex.
With Halo Creative keen to create standout stores which feature an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting, home décor and accessories, our teams have prioritised delivering bespoke design elements that entice its high-end clientele.
Working flexibly to navigate logistical and design challenges, we’ve used our expertise to deliver high-quality, novel units that showcase the unique Timothy Oulton range.
Our Work
The exceptional design plans for the Timothy Oulton store on Broadgate included 850 bowler hats on its fascia, 6,000 books to clad two columns and a canoe suspended from the ceiling.
We therefore prioritised creative design during our seven-week fit-out of the 250sq m single-storey double-height store in November 2021.
Using our in-house team’s expertise in complex projects, we incorporated further bespoke elements, including 65 chandeliers hung from a structural grid, a two-tonne Apollo space pod and collectables such as swords, golf clubs and vintage helmets.
When logistical challenges arose, our team adapted to navigate them. Careful planning ensured the week-long process of transporting materials and products from a logistics centre to Broadgate caused no delays. And when noisy working restrictions imposed by neighbours threatened to hinder the project, we solved the issue by gaining permission to work until midnight for the final main product fit-out.
Our expertise and flexibility allowed our team to deliver the distinctive unit to our client’s deadline and specifications.
