Desk Based Assessment
The First step towards installation is for us to conduct a desk based assessment. Solar Design & Survey allows us to gain an overview of your requirements and assess your property from a desk based view. Using specialist software, we will produce an initial design that best utilises roof space available and considers your on-site energy requirement.
The assessment will provide estimated figures for: Yield, Installation Cost, Payback and Return on investment
The initial proposal produced will provide you with further information about the proposed array and the products we intend to install.
Energy Usage & Demand Analysis
The key to an effective installation is to understand your requirements. The first things we’ll do is look at your energy usage and how you use your power to ascertain an appropriate size of system. From gaining this understanding we will best advise if the more beneficial option would be solar or a hybrid system. Don’t worry If you don’t fully understand your electricity bills, we’ll be happy to talk you through the important bits and discuss how you usage habits.

Technical Survey
Following our initial desk based assessment, a technical assessment will be conducted to ensure we can install the proposed array. During the on-site survey, we will look into your electrical connection, roof and loft space where possible and access. We’ll also talk through the installation and establish a plan that would cause least disruption to your day to day business operations.
From this survey, we will provide a firm quotation for works and any recommendations.

Electrical & Structural Design
In addition to assessing the mechanical installation, we also need to complete an electrical and structural design for your system. To ensure that your existing structure is suitable, an assessment is conducted by a qualified engineer. This will assess the additional load of the solar panels, taking into account wind and snow loadings. A report is issued following the survey to advise if the roof is suitable. If the structure isn’t suitable, it will advise what additional works would be required to safely allow the installation. If a new build, this can be factored into the design. An electrical design is also produced to ensure the systems compliance and provide a guide to our on-site electrician.
