Located on Frontier Park, the five-storey hotel is one of the first in the UK to be completed using the new prototype. As the Principal Contractor, our packages included acoustic wall construction, plastering, decorations, floor finishes, joinery and case goods manufacture and installation.

As part of the Hilton Worldwide Group, Hampton by Hilton is a hotel chain offering moderately priced rooms with upper to midscale facilities. In 2020, the brand rolled out a new prototype and the Blackburn location was one of first to launch in the UK.
Located on Frontier Park, by the M65, Hampton by Hilton Blackburn is the centrepiece of a £100m complex, sharing the retail park with brands such as Greggs, KFC, Subway and Starbucks.
Starting on site in January 2020, we delivered the fit out of the 152-bedroom hotel in 46 weeks, through two UK-wide storms, two national lockdowns and a global pandemic. The hotel features a large open plan reception with a restaurant and café zone, as well as a ground-floor fitness centre.
As a brand new prototype, there were no other trading Hampton by Hilton hotels which could be used as a reference point throughout the project. Working to a set of prototype drawings and the Hampton by Hilton Design Guide, Thompsons brought the new concept to life at Blackburn.
Despite not being appointed on a design and build contract, there were numerous areas left for contractor and client design confirmation. Through client and brand consultation, we identified value engineering opportunities to deliver the best value for the client and needs of the incoming hotel operations team. Utilising our in-house design team, we worked collaboratively with the interior designers and created a set of manufacturing drawings to ensure the buildability of the ground floor case goods in front of house areas.
