Burnley Football Club’s iconic stadium has stood proud at Turf Moor since 1883. But when its new owners recognised the huge potential an ambitious upgrade to its hospitality facilities could offer, we were commissioned to undertake a major refurbishment of the club’s James Hargreaves Stand. Having previously worked on small projects at the ground, we were chosen to deliver essential upgrade work and bespoke enhanced hospitality areas to create a standout modern matchday experience.

Overview
As a founder member of the Football League, Burnley FC is famed for having won all four professional divisions of English football and today ranks in the Premier League.
Now, the historic club’s new owners, American investment firm ALK Capital, have their eyes set on the future. A major upgrade of the ground’s corporate hospitality – timed to honour the centenary of Burnley first becoming Champions of England – was key to their plans for growth.
Following our successful tender to deliver the £1.3m refurbishment of Burnley’s James Hargreaves Stand, we undertook this ambitious project and delivered new hospitality areas and facilities, all the while prioritising our client’s goal to complete all work ahead of the 2021-2022 season.
So successful was the timely delivery of the top-class suite that we have now embarked on a project to create a new dedicated VIP entrance from the club’s carpark.
Having ensured an excellent customer experience, we are establishing a long-term relationship with the club and paving the way for future collaboration as Burnley continues to upgrade its facilities.
Our Work
For the 16 weeks we were on site, we employed our expertise to deliver essential repairs to the building’s fabric and an extensive upgrade of Burnley FC’s hospitality facilities. A critical timeline was central to the project, ensuring work was completed ahead of the club’s first 2021-2022 season game.
With quality also a key priority for our client, we focused initially on repairing crumbling floor slabs and windows.
Employing the expertise of our in-house joinery team to produce bespoke designs and a top-quality finish, our wide-ranging work in the second phase of the project included the delivery of a spacious open plan hospitality space, three new bars, eight private VIP suites, new kitchen and toilet facilities and new players’ and managers’ lounges.
Creative designs wove unique elements into wine displays, shelving for drinks, vanity mirrors and wall features, each providing a luxury addition to the stylish new space.
Navigating the challenges of working within Covid restrictions, we completed the project to deadline, handing over ahead of Burnley’s first home game of the season on 28 August.
