What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?
A power purchase agreement (PPA) is a means for businesses to install solar PV without the upfront capital or ongoing maintenance costs. We will lease your roof or ground space and agree a purchase rate for any power generated. Not only will this reduce your business’ energy costs but also boost your green credentials.
The benefits of a PPA
- No upfront costs
- Instant savings
- Green credentials
Technical Site Assessment
Following our initial desk based assessment, a technical assessment will be conducted to ensure we can install the proposed array. During the on-site survey, we will look into your electrical connection, access and discuss any constraints. We’ll also talk through the installation and establish a plan that would cause least disruption to your day to day business operations.
Proposal
Once a site assessment has been conducted, we’ll finalise our design and provide you with a proposal detailing your potential carbon and financial savings
The legal bit
Upon agreement of the proposal and any questions answered, the PPA is issued for review. This agreement is for us to lease the area for the proposed array above your roof or land designated for the installation.
Installation
An installation plan will be agreed. Scaffolding and suitable access will be installed on site. The array and connection equipment is installed and commissioned on a pre-agreed date, causing as little disruption to your business as possible.
Following installation, we’ll take care of any maintenance and operational concerns.
Savings
As soon as the array is installed, you’ll start to see a saving on your electricity bill. In addition to financial savings, you’ll benefit from carbon reductions. These new green credentials are yours to promote.
Over to you…
At the end of the 25 year term, we’ll give you the option to transfer ownership of the system. This means you can continue to reap the benefits of free solar power once your agreement has ended.
